Roy Hartle

Hartle is seen by many as being the finest ever English full back to have not played for England. He became a regular member of the Bolton side during the 1952-1953 season and helped Bolton reach the 1953 FA Cup final. He starred in the 1958 FA Cup finals, five years after suffering defeat against Blackpool in the 1953 Final. He helped Bolton win the 1958 final and formed an outstanding partnership with left back, Tommy Banks. He left Bolton in the year 1966 after making nearly 500 appearances for the club.

Eddie Hopkinson

Eddie Hopkinson was almost ever present in between the Bolton wanderer’s goal posts between 1956 and 1970, making a staggering 519 league appearances for the club and winning 19 Caps representing England in goal in the process. He was a key member of the Bolton side that won the 1958 FA Cup. He spent most of his time with the Trotters in the top flight, before being relegated to the second division in 1964.
