Peter Reid

Reid signed for Bolton Wanderers in the year 1974 and soon became a permanent fixture in the Bolton team. He enjoyed a terrific season during the 1977-1978 campaign as he was outstanding in helping Bolton win the second division league title. After eight fantastic years playing for Bolton, Reid moved to Everton for £60,000 in the year 1982 and he was very much part of the Everton side that won the league title during the 1984-1985 and 1986-1987 seasons, the 1984 FA Cup and the 1985 European Cup Winners Cup. He was named as the ‘English footballer of the year’ in 1985 and went on to play for England. Making 13 appearances for his nation, including appearances in the 1986 world cup finals. Reid later on played for QPR and Manchester City.

Frank Worthington

Worthington started his successful football career playing for Huddersfield Town in the year 1966. he went on to enjoy spells playing for Leicester city and Birmingham City, however he made his biggest impact at Bolton Wanderers as he was very well known for scoring outstanding and crucial goals. He scored arguably the greatest ever football league goal in the history of the game, a league match between Bolton and Ipswich in the 1978- 79 season as he had his back to the goal and flicked the ball over his head to volley the ball brilliantly in to the back of the net.
