Brian Kidd

Kidd spent the majority of his career playing for Manchester United between 1963 and 1974 and moved on to play for Arsenal in the year 1974. After two years playing for the Gunners, he moved on to play for Manchester City between 1976 and 1979. He moved on to play for Bolton Wanderers in the year 1980 and went on to nearly spend three very successful years with the Trotters. Later on in his career he was assistant manager to Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Jimmy Phillips

Phillips is without doubt a cult hero at Bolton Wanderers FC. He started his career off playing for the club during the 1983-84 season, automatically becoming a solid presence in the Bolton defence. He spent three seasons with Bolton, and made nearly 125 appearances for the club. His great play at the club earned him a move to Scottish giants, Glasgow Rangers. After lengthy spells playing for Oxford United and Middlesbrough, Phillips moved back to Bolton for a second spell at the club during the 1993-94 season. He was ever present in the side that gained promotion in to the premiership on two separate occasions. He made over 350 appearances for Bolton during his career at the club.

Paul Jones

Jones made his debut for Bolton Wanderers in a league match against Sheffield United in January 1971 and soon became a regular member of the Bolton starting line up. He was ever present in the Bolton side that gained promotion to the second division during the 1972-73 campaign as he played in every match and scored seven goals from his defensive position. In total, Jones spent twelve season playing for the Trotters and made nearly 450 league appearances for the club and scored 38 goals. He is arguably Bolton’s finest ever central defender. He moved on to sign for Huddersfield Town in the summer of 1983.
