Alan Stubbs
Stubbs made his debut for Bolton at the age of 19 years old during the 1990-91 football season for Bolton Wanderers. He was outstanding in his defensive role throughout his first two seasons at the club and helped Bolton to promotion in the 1992-1993 season in to the first division. His heroics in defence helped Bolton earn promotion into the premiership at the end of the 1994-95 season and helped Wanderers reach the League cup final of 1995, suffering defeat against Liverpool.
Mark Patterson
Patterson commenced his football career at Ewood Park with Blackburn Rovers during the 1983-84 season. He spent four seasons at Blackburn, making over 100 appearances for the club before moving on to play for Bury during the 1989-90 season. After spending around a year at Bury he moved on to play for Bolton Wanderers and soon established himself in the side as a fine midfield players. He was very much a part of the Bolton side that gained promotion from the third tier of English football into the premiership in time for the 1996-97 season. He was also part of the Bolton side that reached the 1995 league cup final.
David Lee
David Lee started his career off playing for Bury during the 1985-1986 football season. He spent six years playing for Bury before moving on to star for Southampton, spending just two years at the club. At Bury he made over 230 appearances and was outstanding in his forward role. He signed for Bolton in December 1992 and soon made a huge impact at the club and was part of the side that gained promotion from the second division into the premiership in time for the 1995-96 season. During his time at Bolton, he made over 140 appearances for the club.
John McGinlay
McGinlay was one of the most prolific goal scorers in the football league during the late 80’s and early 90’s. His outstanding play up front started while starring for Shrewsbury in the 1988-89 season. During his two seasons playing with Shrewsbury, he made 60 appearances and scored 27 goals, averaging at a prolific rate of nearly a goal scored every other match. After successful; short spells playing for Bury and Millwall, McGinlay signed for second division Bolton Wanderers at the start of the 1992-93 season and was outstanding in his debut season, scoring 16 goals in only 34 matches, helping Wanderers earn promotion to the first division. He had an incredible run in front of goal during the 1996-97 season, smashing in 24 goals in the net, helping Bolton to promotion in to the premiership. |
